Lexus GS and BMW 5 Series
The choice between a Lexus and a BMW is a common one made by buyers all over the world. Both manufacture luxury cars like the Lexus GS and BMW 5 series. As a matter of fact, these two particular cars often go head to head when the decision to buy a car comes along. There are a few things to consider about each of them, however, before you buy, such as style, performance, and safety.
Styles
Both the Lexus GS and BMW 5 series are mid-size luxury executive cars, with the Lexus GS also holding the title of luxury sports sedan as well. The Lexus GS has come in several different series, including the GS 300 and GS 350. Throughout its three generations the Lexus GS has changed in different ways, borrowing design plans and features of other used cars like the Toyota Mark X and the Toyota Crown. The BMW 5 series also comes in different series throughout five generations to date, including the E12 and, more recently, the F10 in 2010. These cars have also undergone changes, such as fluctuating from a traditional BMW style and away from it throughout the generations.
Performance
The BMW 5 series such as the F10 boasts a V8 and several different diesel engines, depending on where they’re sold. Other performance features for the BMW 5 series includes rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and 8 speed automatic or 6 speed manual transmission. The Lexus GS also comes with several different features for performance purposes, including rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and 6 or 8 speed automatic transmission. The Lexus GS also offers a hybrid model transmission called the CVT. All of these features are mainstays in the Lexus and BMW way of life, making it a tough choice to buy one or the other based on performance capacity alone.
Safety
The Lexus GS provides safety features that are crucial for passenger and driver safety in case of an accident, including front, side curtain, and driver/passenger knee airbags, Pre-Collision System, Vehicle Stability Control, and anti-lock braking/brake assist. The BMW 5 series includes features like front driver and passenger airbags, as well as side body and head airbags for passenger and driver sides.
